Experts OnDemand: C-Brace: Witness the future of orthotics for yourself; the success is evident

This course is part of our Experts OnDemand series. This is for informational purposes, and is not a qualification course.


Description

One hour course will provide orthotists with an introduction and overview for the C-Brace with respect to patient evaluation, needs identification, impression taking, clinical assessment, and delivery. A technical overview will show the continuum of care to insure optimum function and performance of the C-Brace. Numerous clinical case studies will be presented to provide attendees with a demonstration of the affect C-Brace has had on mobility for patients.



Objectives

At the end of this training, attendees will be able to:

  • Attendees will be provided with steps involved with patient evaluation and selection process as well as understanding functions and benefits of the 2nd generation C-Brace.

  • Clinicians will receive and overview regarding the clinical methodology using the Setup App and fitting of trial orthosis as well as the evaluation of the DTO.

  • Orthotists will be shown a number clinical case studies that illustrate how the C-Brace was properly managed and implemented to insure an optimum outcome.



Instructors

Gerald Stark, PhD, MSEM, CPO/L, FAAOP(D)

Gerald Stark, Ph.D, MSEM, CPO/L, FAAOP(D) is the Orthotics Manager for Ottobock Healthcare based in Austin, Texas. He has written and presented numerous topics in O & P nationally and internationally. In his 27-year career he has held various administrative positions in Engineering, Clinical Care, Product Development, and Education. As well as mechanical engineering degree and Masters of Engineering Management, he holds a Ph.D in Organizational Learning and Leadership from the University of Tennessee of Chattanooga. He currently serves as Chair of the Research Council for the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. He has been honored as “Outstanding Engineering Alumni, “Outstanding Doctoral Student” and “Outstanding Clinical Educator” by his affiliated universities and the Academy.


Ted Friedmann, CO

Ted received his advanced specialty diploma in Orthotics from Century Community College in White bear lake Minnesota and his Bachelors in Manufacturing Technology from the University of Northern Iowa. Ted has been a certified clinical orthotist since 2005. He practiced for 8 years at Chladek O and P and 3 years at Hanger clinic in Des Moines, Iowa. He now is traveling the country supporting our customers for all their orthotic needs.


Credits

  • Approved for 1.25 (s) ABC CEUs
  • ABC will grant Category I CEUs to Certified Orthotists, Orthotic Assistants, and Orthotic Technicians. Category II CEUs will be granted to those not identified.
